Heather Rae (Cherokee) has been doing groundbreaking work as a producer and executive for more than twenty years. She has produced over 10 feature films including Oscar-nominated and Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner FROZEN RIVER (2008). Her latest film, Netflix Original TALLULAH stars Ellen Page and Allison Janney and is now available on the SVOD platform. She is the former director of the Native Program at the Sundance Institute, has sat on their board of trustees, and has advised for such organisations as The Rockefeller Foundation, IFP, Film Independent, The Ford Foundation, The Tribeca Institute, and First Americans in the Arts.

Heather draws on her experiences as an activist, a maker, a film producer, and a leader in the arts to deliver a provocative keynote address on storytelling and risk in today’s world.

Heather's keynote address took place on Sat 24 Sept, 10am at the Big Screen Symposium 2016 in Auckland, NZ.
